Smoky skies, air quality shouldn’t have long term effect says Provincial Health

Provincial Health says exposure to smoke from the BC wildfires wont have a long-term effect on BC residents.

Smoke advisories have been in effect for over a month in a number of regions throughout the province, but Deputy Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says the affects shouldn’t linger.

Dr Henry says compared to places like Beijing, what we’re experiencing is relatively short term exposure,

Dr. Henry says the impacts will be short term and people who are more affected by air quality are those with pre-existing conditions, infants and elders.
