Environment Canada has expanded snowfall warnings in the Northwest.
Forecasters have added the Highway 16 corridor between Smithers and Terrace to the list along with Kitimat, Stewart, and Terrace.
The weather office says a long period of snowfall will see 25 to 30 cm hit the ground as a slow moving low pressure system combined with colder air crawls across the region.
Stewart is expected to get up to 40 centimetres by Friday night while Terrace and the Highway 16 corridor are expected to get 20 to 30 centimetres by Friday afternoon.
Kitimat is expected to recieve up to 25 centimetres Friday.
Officials say the heavy snow is likely to cause limited visibility and slippery conditions.
