Environment Canada has issued snowfall warnings for areas of northwest BC.
Both the Bulkley Valley-Lakes district and inland sections of the North Coast are expected to get snow as a winter storm spreads across the region Sunday.
Forecasters predict between 10 and 15 cm of snow in the Smithers are before it tapers off Sunday night.
A long period of snowfall for inland sections of the North Coast could see up to 30 cm of the white stuff to hit the ground Sunday in the Stewart region before it changes to rain Monday.
Officials say visibility may become severely reduced with slippery sections along area roads and sidewalks.
Much of the precipitation has fallen as rain at lower elevations, but higher areas around communities like Terrace are seeing heavy snow as well.
