Stepfather overcome with emotion at murder trial

The stepfather of a 16 -year-old Terrace girl struggled with his emotions as he testified at the trial of the man accused of killing her Tuesday.

Glen Wilson told the court about the excited text he received from CJ Fowler in early December, 2012 telling him that she had just found out she was pregnant.  He testified that while he was excited about the news, he told her she would have to return to school and that her boyfriend Damien Taylor would have to find work.

Wilson had sent bus tickets to CJ and Taylor so that they could return to Terrace from a trip to Kamloops, but the girl was found dead in a Kamloops park hours after she sent her stepfather the text.

Damien Taylor is on trial for second-degree murder.  The Crown has evidence it says will prove Fowler and Taylor argued as they left hospital in Kamloops after she found out she was pregnant.
