Stop “Harper” stickers now showing up in Williams Lake

Stop signs in Williams Lake are being defaced with political stickers.

The stickers say “Harper” in bold white letters with a red background, and are being placed on stop signs just under the stop.

Last month Prince Rupert had a slew of stop signs defaced with the stickers.

Gary Muraca is the City of Williams Lake’s Director of Municipal Services.

He says so far two signs have been stuck with the sticker so it hasn’t cost too much to have the signs repaired, though the costs will go up if more defaced signed are found.

He also says if they catch someone defacing a sign red handed, they would pass it onto the RCMP.
