Aboriginal post secondary students will be able to take advantage of new and continuing programs at a number of schools across the north.
The programs aim to support their successes as they complete their education and training.
Bridie O’Brien of Northwest Community College says the programs aim to break down the barriers.
She says it brings the education closer to the communities where the students are located.
Northwest Community College received $341, 831 while College of New Caledonia received $375,000 and the University of Northern British Columbia received $200,000 from the Ministry of Advanced Education.
