CFNR has learned that the president of the Tahltan Central Government has been suspended by its board of directors.
A letter dated December 5th was sent to TCG members stating the board was investigating President Chad Day.
The letter cites Section 6.2.2 of the Tahltan Central Government Governance Policy that deals with “Complaints, Investigation and Disciplinary Process.”
It goes on to say Day has been suspended with pay while the investigation continues.
Day refused to comment about the suspension.
He did add the suspension will be lifted once the board goes through the proper process, saying it should have been lifted already.
The letter does not state what instigated the investigation.
Day was re-elected for a second term as president of the Tahltan Central Government earlier this year.
The story will be updated as we get more information.
A copy of the letter can be seen here.
