The BC Prosecution Service says a 17-year-old has been charged in connection with a fatal stabbing in Prince Rupert.
Officials say the youth is charged with one count of second degree murder and one count of attempted murder.
Prince Rupert RCMP were called to a stabbing at a home early Wednesday where they found a man and woman, both 69, suffering serious injuries. Mounties also arrested a 17-year-old male at the scene.
The 69-year-old man did not survive despite treatment, while the woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The youth remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court October 26th.
The Youth Criminal Justice Act bars the release of information that may lead to the identity of the accused.
