Telus crews are working to make repairs after phone services went down in Kitimat overnight.
Telus says damage to a fibre optic line in the community has lead to disruptions in both wireless and landline telephone services.
Kitimat RCMP says a truck hit a pole along Highway 37 at about 1:30 causing damage to the fibre optic cable.
Liz Sauve with Telus communications says technicians are on site and working to restore services as soon as possible.
Sauve says customers may have intermittent, degraded or no use of their cell phones. She says about 2,800 landline telephones are also impacted.
RCMP say the driver of the pickup was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The crash is under investigation.
