Tentative deal reached in Kitimat labour dispute

It looks like there could be labour peace in Kitimat.

The union representing striking municipal workers says the District of Kitimat and Unifor local 2300 have reached a tentative agreement.

The bitter dispute has dragged on since the end of February with both the district and union waging a war of press releases about the state of negotiations.

A ratification vote by both parties is expected within the next few days.

No details of the agreement will be disclosed until then.
