Terrace area gets funding for grow local programs

The province has announced funding for the Terrace area to expand growing local food.

Terrace and the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine are getting 18-thousand dollars to strengthen local food supply security.

It will also go towards increasing awareness and appreciation for supporting local food production.

Terrace Mayor Carol Leclerc says the city is looking forward to bringing the programs to residents with the hopes of the making the city healthier.

The money comes from the province’s Grow Local Plan.
