The City of Terrace is the latest Northwest community to ban campfires due to the extreme wildfire risk.
All backyard fires and active burning permits issued by the city are prohibited until further notice.
The only exceptions to the fire ban are Ferry Island Campground and the use of gas or briquette barbecues.
The District of Kitimat and the Nisga’a Lisims Government have also banned campfires.
