Terrace City Council is renewing a bylaw that helps to put money back into the downtown core.

Those funds are from a levy that is managed by the Terrace Downtown Improvement Area Society which is comprised of local businesses.

Mayor Carol Leclerc says this bylaw goes towards improving the downtown area.

She says a vibrant downtown helps the whole city and not just that area.

The current bylaw was set to expire at the end of the year, but council supported an extension for five more years.
