Terrace City Council has opted to support the Federation of Canadian Municipalities in their lobbying efforts.
The FCM has been making the rounds lately, looking to collect the funding needed to better support municipalities in Ottawa.
Mayor Carol Leclerc says she has attended meetings with the Federation and that the state of rural communities is a consistent topic.
The FCM plans to use the funding to poll municipalities on their needs, with a priority on housing and infrastructure.
Advertising and staffing will also garner focus.
Terrace Council voted unanimously to support the Federation with 525 dollars in funding for each of the next two years.
