A fundraiser put on by the Terrace Fire Department saw more than 600 burgers made and more than 5 thousand dollars raised last week.
All of the money raised at the barbecue, which was a combined effort with Terrace Council and Mr. Mikes Steakhouse, will go towards the victims of the Alkali Lake fire in Telegraph Creek.
Representatives from the fire department said they had planned to give out around 250 burgers during the barbecue last Thursday, but nearly tripled that figure by the time it was over.
