The Project Director of the Skeena Diversity Society says she is amazed how committed and compassionate Terrace residents are.
Sasa Loggin made the comments after about 20 people gathered Tuesday to see what they could do to assist Syrian refugees.
Loggin says sponsorship costs about $20,000 per family for the first year. Skeena Diversity is in the process of setting up crowdfunding and a local account at Northern Savings Credit Union.
Organizers have also set up a Facebook page to use as a gathering place for the latest information, ideas, and meeting times.
Loggin says the next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29th at 6 p.m. at Skeena Diversity.
