The Terrace Area Healthy Communities Committee reported to city council today.
Health Services Administrator, Chris Simms, says the committee has been successful in getting a $20,000 grant, and using that grant to engage youth in healthy living as its first project.
The committee is now looking to start a second project, and is hoping to further engage local stakeholders by getting a co-chair from city council.
Simms says they hope to have a project idea in place by the end of the summer.
The committee was formed to raise awareness and address risk factors for chronic disease in the community.
