Terrace has started a program with gas stations aiming to reduce climate change.
Smart Fueling is an education initiative where labels are added to gas pumps, nozzles and store windows, sharing ways to reduce emissions.
The idea was presented to council in 2015 where they approved that it would be no cost for the gas stations.
Mayor Carol Leclerc says it’s a great way to present ideas to drivers to reduce the impact emissions have on climate change.
Esso, Husky, and Shell will display the labels.
The city says it’s believe they’re the first community in Northern B.C. start the program, as well as one the first municipalities in Canada.
