Terrace man thanks a crow for changing his life

A Northwest Community College student says a crow has helped him change his life.

Thirty-four-year-old Phil Wood was caught up in the world of drugs, using ones like cocaine.

Wood moved to Terrace when he was six months clean. One day, he noticed an injured crow and named him Lokei.

He then brought Lokei in so the injury wouldn’t get worse. He says while it was an instant connection, it wasn’t perfect at the beginning.

Lokei was injured a few months ago but has since recovered from the injury.

Wood says Lokei is like a child to him.

Wood says Lokei now has a new place to live near him and is thankful because he feels Lokei is a major part of him staying away from drugs.

Wood is currently has been clean for a year and a half and hopes he can one day run an animal sanctuary so he can help more animals that are struggling.
