A Terrace man wants to do away with all consumer packaging that isn’t either recyclable or compostable…and it just might happen.
Ben Korving’s plan won MP Nathan Cullen’s ‘Create Your Canada’ contest, which calls on constituents to send their ideas for legislation that Cullen can submit as a private member’s bill in the House of Commons.
Cullen says plastics and non-compostable products are increasing at an alarming rate and the federal government needs a wake up call on the issue.
Cullen says he looks forward to flying the 51 year-old Korving to Ottawa early next year to watch his idea turned into a bill and tabled in the House of Commons.
