Terrace is one step closer to approving their new business improvement levy.
The proposal has businesses in the downtown area pay into a $110,000 levy that will be used for beautification projects and marketing the downtown area.
The original renewal of the levy was blocked by businesses in the improvement area because they felt they weren’t properly consulted.
Now, the Terrace Downtown Improvement Area Society feels they have enough support to continue on with the bylaw.
Businesses within the area have 30 days to oppose the new levy.
The city says at least half of the businesses in the improvement area must disagree with the levy in order for it to be rejected.
