2019’s proposed operating budget has the Terrace Public Library set to receive a funding increase of nearly 20 thousand dollars.
Library reps presented the report to City Council today during their annual preliminary budget meeting.
Last year, the library received just over 784 thousand in funding and are projecting just over 804 thousand for 2019.
The bulk of the funding comes from a combination of the City and Regional District, with contributions from the province, and library revenue making up the rest.
With provincial funding staying the same, and projected revenue leveling out, the entirety of the increase will come from the City and District contributions.
16 thousand of the 20 thousand dollar increase will go towards staff wages.
