BC Business Magazine says Terrace is the sixth best place to work in the province.
Last year Terrace was ranked 25th but soared to sixth this year.
The magazine says the improvement was due to higher incomes over the last five years.
Terrace mayor Carol Leclerc says she’s very happy with the ranking and it makes sense because Terrace is a major hub for the area.
Mayor Leclerc believes Terrace’s strength is in the number of amenities it offers.
But she also notes there are Terracites who are struggling and need help.
BC Business Magazine’s Matt O’Grady says it’s too early to tell if Terrace’s ranking might go even higher in the future, pointing to uncertainty over LNG development in the region.
Echoing Mayor Leclerc, he expects Terrace to remain fairly strong because of its diversified economy.
Prince Rupert also made the list at number 15, rising from 24th the previous year.
