For the past ten years, firefighters and RCMP in Terrace have been hitting the ice to raise funds to help local children get active.
This year’s edition of the aptly named Guns and Hoses Charity Hockey Game will take place on November 23rd at the Terrace Arena.
Tickets to attend the game go for 5 dollars a piece, with all money raised going to supporting local children through the Jumpstart for Kids program.
According to Canadian Tire owner and Jumpstart rep Bryan Gascon, a lack of money prevents one third of children from enrolling in sports.
Gascon was on hand as team captains got together to discuss the game, though all were hesitant to offer predictions.
Constable Landon Edwards will captain the RCMP team, while Local 2685 President Jeffrey Minhinnick will head up the firefighters.
Minhinnick also offered his views on the positive local influence of the Jumpstart program.
Attendees will also be able to enter a puck toss, highlighted below by Gascon, which may see them walk away with a trip to Vancouver.
The puck drops at 6:00 on November 23rd.
