Yesterday marked the first official day on the job for the Terrace RCMP detachment’s new Officer in Charge.
Inspector Jayson Lucash has more than 2 decades of experience in BC split between Williams Lake, Lake Country, the Okanagan, and, most recently, Prince George.
Lucash’s last posting had him in charge of the North District Provincial Traffic Unit.
He previously served as sergeant-in-command for the Lake Country detachment, north of Kelowna, and has even seen time in the Southern Mainland.
Mayor Carol Leclerc and the newly minted City Council officially welcomed Lucash at the start of yesterday’s innaugural council meeting.
The Terrace detachment has been without an Officer in Charge since June after the transfer of Inspector Syd Lecky to Kamloops.
