Terrace has been recognized for its beauty.
Results have been released after a visit by judges in the summer from the Communities in Bloom competition.
The competition has three levels with the city competing at the provincial level.
The judges based their results on criteria such as tidiness, environmental action, heritage conservation, urban forestry, floral displays, and landscape turf and ground covers. It also looked at community involvement.
Terrace received four blooms out of five, meaning it achieved the ranking of 79.5 per cent; the top spot would have been a score of 81.5 percent or higher.
Mayor Carol Leclerc says she’s very proud of the community members who made this possible.
The city also won the best overall floral displays out of the whole province.
Mayor Leclerc and the Greater Terrace Beautification Society says they’re looking forward to keeping up this kind of standard and working on improvements suggested by the judges.
