Terrace reverend looking to combat racism and other forms of hate

Terrace’s Knox United Church is holding a gathering to combat racism and other forms of hate.

Reverend Teri Meyer says they’re hosting an event on Monday for people wanting to be in a safe place and find ways to bring the community closer together.

She says while Terrace may be a small town, it’s not immune to the what’s going on in the world.

She says anyone is welcome to attend.

The event will be at Knox United Church from noon until 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Meyer says there will be speakers. She notes musicians and poets are more than welcome to come and share pieces as well.

  1. Reverend Teri I love what you are doing by promoting a sanctuary for people to come together & discover each other’s & their own humanity. Providing a safe haven devoid of politics with the space for essentials like respect, compassion, dignity, basic human kindness, diversity & curiosity to flourish is key. These are such important tools towards togetherness, harmony & peace. What flourishes in the sanctuary can then positively inform & affect the community at large. Thank you for your good works Reverend.
