Terrace Search and Rescue helped evacuate an injured snowmobiler from the back country Sunday afternoon.
Search Manager Dave Jephson says they got a call about a sledder with a back injury in the Trapper Mountain area at around one o’clock.
Three of the team’s BackCountry Response members were choppered into the area by Great Slave Helicopters.
Snowmobilers had taken the injured sledder to a local cabin to warm up while waiting for emergency responders.
SAR members treated the rider and then transported him to ambulance crews waiting at the regional airport.
