Residents of Terrace came out in droves to show their holiday generosity this weekend for the annual Cram the Cruiser event.
Put on by local RCMP, the event aims to collect food donations and gift cards to help support locals in need this holiday season.
This year was 8th year of the event in Terrace, with all donations going to the Terrace Churches Food Bank and the Salvation Army.
RCMP staff positioned cars outside of the Save-on Foods, Safeway, and Real Canadian Wholesale this Saturday, where they packed 4 police vehicles full of food donations.
Shoppers donated an estimated 5 thousand pounds of food, as well as just over 2 thousand dollars in gift cards.
In comparison, last year’s event saw Terrace residents donate 47 hundred pounds of food and roughly 12 hundred dollars worth of gift cards.
