Skeena Pride Alliance and the City of Terrace will be hosting a ribbon cutting next Wednesday to celebrate the installation of the city’s new rainbow crosswalk.
The crosswalk was proposed last year by Terrace resident Sarah Artis who was inspired by a similar project in Prince Rupert.
Devin Wall with Skeena Pride Alliance says the addition of the rainbow crosswalk shows that progress is being made when it comes to the LGBTQ+ community, but he adds there’s still a ways to go.
The ribbon cutting is scheduled for the rainbow crosswalk in front of City Hall July 20th at 4:30 pm.
Following the event, there will be a barbecue sponsored by Wings Terrace in the parking lot of the Skeena Mall.
Skeena Pride Alliance, a diverse group of people, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, meets every third Wednesday of the month at Xanders Coffee Shop.
