Terrace and Thornhill firefighters responded to an early morning fire today in the 5200 block of Dover Road.
Firefighters arrived at the residence around 6:43 a.m. and found a house fully involved with fire.
Ten firefighters and one fire truck from Terrace, along with three firetrucks and 11 firefighters from Thornhill attended the fire.
One Terrace firefighter suffered a sprained ankle during the incident.
This is the second fire in as many days in the Terrace area.
Initially, Terrace Fire Chief John Klie suspected wood stoves may have been the culprit in both fires, but says they have been ruled out as causes.
He does recommend people using wood or pellet stoves to take some basic precautions now that the weather is changing.
Chief Klie adds both homes had working smoke detectors, and in both cases, it was the neighbours who helped out the affected homeowners.
