Terrace is one of two new communities selected to house Foundry youth centres in BC.
The youth centres aim to make it easier for those aged 12-24 struggling with mental health issues and addiction to find the help they need.
Minister of Mental Health and Addictions Judy Darcy says the Foundry will bring all kinds of support integral to the future of youth in BC.
According to Darcy, Terrace and the northwest in general have demonstrated a particular need for support.
Darcy hopes that bringing the Foundry to Terrace will help combat years of neglect for the Northwest.
The province aims to have the Foundry open by mid-2019.
