The Thornhill Fire Department is welcoming their new fire truck to the hall.
Chief Rick Bohem says it’s a brand new custom built truck that allowed the department to focus on safety for the firefighters responding to calls.
Thronhill carried out a tradition many departments do when getting a brand new truck and that includes giving it a good scrubbing.
Chief Bohem says pushing it into the fire hall represents when horses pulled the engines. He says firefighters had to push the equipment into the hall because horses were unable to.
He says the old truck will be heading to Dease Lake.
The cost of the truck was $663,000. There are plans to replace their ladder truck sometime next year or in 2019.
