Thornhill firefighters tackle a two-vehicle fire

Two vehicles went up in smoke outside Terrace Thursday morning.

The Thornhill Volunteer Fire Department was called out to Simpson Crescent shortly before 11:15.

Chief Rick Boehm says the six firefighters found two vehicles on fire with the possibility flames could spread to a nearby home.

Crews were able to keep the fire to the vehicles, although Boehm says there was some heat damage done to the residence.

Firefighters were at the scene for about an hour and there were no injuries.

Terrace RCMP say police spoke with a 4-year-old child who police say had been playing with a BBQ lighter.
