Three British Columbia teachers face disciplinary actions

Three BC high school teachers have been disciplined for failing to intervene when students at a three-day camp arranged for degrading punishments to be drawn from a “Jar of Death.”

The province’s commissioner for teacher regulation says campers were pressured to lick a teacher’s foot, chew gum that had been chewed by another teacher and drink a glass of water into which four people had spat.

Surrey teacher, Jennifer Robinson, who was listed as the “educator-in-charge” at the camp, has been suspended for two days in October while two other teachers will serve their one-day suspensions in November.

All the teachers were issued letters of discipline and must complete a course on professional boundaries.

  1. The three teachers should be terminated. I understand about Progressive Discipline, but this behaviour is well outside any acceptable behaviour toward students or any Human Being! They do not belong in the company of ANY Human Being!!

  2. they should be fired not disciplined, they should be smart enough to know there boundries before being allowed to teach .
