After more than 13 years, a Fort St. James area First Nation finally has safe drinking water
Indigenous Services Canada says the Tl’azt’en Nation now has a newly commissioned water treatment facility to provide potable water to the community.
The Tl’azt’en, whose communities border Stuart Lake, were under a long-term drinking water advisory since 1995.
The federal government has committed to ending all long-term drinking water advisories for public systems on reserve by March, 2021.
