TransCanada and Tricorp has announced a major partnership to build a skilled labour force in BC’s north yesterday.
The $250,000 partnership will offer skills development and training for Aboriginal people in northwest BC through TransCanada’s Pathway to Pipeline Readiness program.
Tricorp’s COO Jackie Ridley says the money will help people not only get training, but start a career.
The program includes three, 10-week courses that will be offered through 2015-2016.
Currently, programs are planned for Prince Rupert and two further courses are planned in other communities within TRICORP’s service area.
It’s expected a total of 36 students will be served by this programming.
