Five new agreements made between the Tsilhqot’in Nation an the province of British Columbia will build on their landmark 2014 decision.
The agreements provide better clarity and certainty regarding economic and recreational opportunities within Tsilhqot’in title territories.
Activites covered by the new agreements include: access and authorization of commercial and recreational licenses and permits, access and authorization for angling guides, access for registered trappers, management and continued use of public and commercial protected areas, and the continued operation of recreational sites.
The agreements are part of the eight pillars of reconciliation outlined by the Tsilhqot’in government in a 2016 Supreme Court decision.
