Tuck Inlet LNG project enters environmental assessment phase

A proposed LNG terminal on the eastern shore of Tuck Inlet has moved into the Federal environmental assessment phase.

The WCC LNG project near Prince Rupert is a joint venture shared by imperial oil and ExxonMobil Canada.

The facility would convert natural gas into LNG for export to global markets and is expected to operate for a minimum of 25 years.

The proponents are examining two different design options; one version would see an onshore LNG facility while the other would be a nearshore facility.
