Former youths in care will no longer need to worry about tuition money if they intend to join the construction trades.
Premier John Horgan announced today that their tuition waiver program for youth in care will now be expanded to union-provided construction trades training at all public post secondary institutions in province that offer the training.
The program will cover over 30 institutions in BC.
The youth in care tuition waiver program has seen a 77 percent expansion since its expansion in September of 2017.
59 thousand jobs in the construction field are expected to open up by 2027.
