Two northern BC residents are learning both the “Don’t feed the animals” and “watch what you post online” lessons the hard way.
The pair are being charged under the Wildlife Act after photos of them feeding Timbits to a bear cub along the Alaska Highway emerged online.
According to the BC Conservation Service, feeding bears, especially at a young age, can lead to them associating human interaction with food.
This, in turn, leads to bears seeking out human food, and increasing risk to the public.
The pair are set to appear in court in Fort Nelson next month under charges of intentionally feeding dangerous wildlife.
