The search of the Salmon River continues Tuesday morning after two men ended up in the frigid water north of Prince George Monday.
RCMP were called out to the area in the late afternoon for a report of snowmobilers that had gone into the river.
Police say a group of snowmobilers was on the ice or travelling through the water when a man either fell through the ice or into open water.
Two men jumped in to rescue him, but only one of the men was able to get out of the water.
Prince George Search and Rescue and a helicopter scoured the area until midnight with no sign of the men.
RCMP say the men, both from Prince George, are ages 36 and 31.
Police and search and rescue personnel are urging people to say off the ice because the unusually warm weather has made conditions unsafe.
