British-based ski publication “Snow Magazine” has ranked Shames Mountain near Terrace as one of the top ten ski resorts in the world.
Write Peter Coombs had the chance to explore the hill last season and says what Shames lacks in infrastructure and creature comforts, it more than makes up for with soul, terrain, back country access, community vibe, and First Nations inclusion; in short, it rocks.
General Manager Christian Theberge says it’s quite the recognition to receive.
Theberge says the top ten ranking reflects the appeal of the terrain and the welcoming community at the ski co-operative.
Shames shares some highly esteemed company in the top ten list, including La Clusaz, France, Whistler, and Telluride, Colorado.
