UNBC continues to address sexual violence on campus

The University of Northern British Columbia President’s task force on sexual violence has submitted their final report.

The report looks into prevention of sexual violence and how to protect the victim if an incident occurs.

School President Dr. Daniel Weeks says the school is aiming to have the policy reflect the safety and health of their student.

Arctrica Cunningham is the Northern Undergraduate Student Society President and hopes the policy working together to ensure the victim’s privacy is protected.

UNBC is hoping to have their policies in place by the middle of next year.

This is the same timeline that the province wants all post secondary schools to have sexual violence policies in place for their campuses.
