Unemployment up in BC but still below national average

British Columbia faced yet another jump in unemployment last month, though it still stayed below the national pace.

June saw the unemployment rate climb to 5.2 percent from its 4.8 percent mark in May.

Across Canada, the rate hopped to 6 percent despite the addition of nearly 32 thousand jobs thanks to roughly 76 thousand new entries to the workforce.

The June national rate is up two basis points from May.
