A man is facing charges for uttering threats that briefly shut down a Prince Rupert high school.
Prince Rupert RCMP were called to an incident at Charles Hays Secondary School due to a man making threats through social media.
The incident shutdown the school briefly during this morning when it was put into a “hold and secure” status.
Police say the investigation is continuing, but they’re looking into a number charges.
Sergeant Jagdev ‘Dave’ Uppal, says while they can’t go into the details of the threats, he emphasizes no students were in danger.
Uppal did confirm the man is an adult, and not a student of the school.
