The RCMP have updated information on their search for Jennifer Derbyshire.

The Smithers woman went missing on Wednesday April 13th after dropping off her children at school.

Corporal Dave Tyreman of the RCMP says there was a confirmed sighting of Jennifer, and they’re working to confirm a second sighting.

Cpl. Tyreman says there’s speculation that the closure of Lake Kathlyn Elementary School in Smithers the night before her disappearance might be influencing her behaviour.

Jennifer was involved in attempts to keep the school open.

Regardless, the RCMP and her family want to make sure she’s ok.

She is believed to be driving a 2005 Navy Blue Dodge Caravan with BC Licence Plate 418-KRH.

Jennifer is described as 5’8″ tall, with a medium build (190 pounds), shoulder length brown hair, and blue eyes.
