Vanderhoof man killed by fallen tree

The BC Coroners Service says a Vanderhoof man was the victim of an accident along a forest road near Prince George last Saturday.

Officials say 43 year-old Dave Bidal was heading to a work site along the Fort George Canyon Road when he was blocked by two fallen trees.

As he was trying to clear the trees off the road, Bidal was struck by one of them.

He was rushed to hospital in Prince George but died of his injuries a few hours later.

The BC Coroners Service, WorkSafe BC, and RCMP are continuing to investigate.
