A 49 year-old Fort St. John man has been identified as person killed in a watery crash in Quesnel earlier this month.
The BC Coroners Service says Heath Onstine’s body was found June 22nd in the Johnson Slough area of the Fraser River near Agassiz-Hope.
Onstine was visiting the Quesnel area during the weekend of June 13th and 14th. RCMP responded to a report Sunday that a vehicle may have ended up in the Quesnel River.
A search of the area turned up a licence plate to Onstine’s car, but no trace of him was found and the river was running too fast for dive teams to search the water.
Quesnel RCMP say they don’t suspect foul play in the death but police and the coroner continue to investigate.
