Organizations in the Hazelton area are banding together today in a community-wide search for a missing man.
57 year old Lester Sampson was last seen on August 25th in Glen Vowell (Sikedakh), but no trace of him has been found.
The Gitxsan Health Society, Government’ Commission, Chiefs’ office, and Gitxsan Child and Family Services are supporting staff members to participate in the search.
Searchers plan to scour the area between Gitanmaax to Glen Vowell, but they’re looking for more volunteers to help out.
Those interested in helping with the search for Lester Sampson are asked to meet at the Glen Vowell Fire Hall at 9 am today.
Volunteers area asking to dress warmly in layers, wear reflective, water resistant clothing, and to bring a walking stick.
Organizers plan to set up a fire at the sand pit near the 4-Mile Bridge where donations can be dropped off.
